Zeynep Akman is based in Istanbul and works at the intersection of calligraphy, illumination and contemporary miniature practice, treating traditional page structures and calligraphic systems as conceptual fields open to transformation. Her practice produces layered works that reframe inherited forms, creating narratives that shift between formal familiarity and conceptual estrangement.

Akman’s recent participations include projects include Başakşehir Municipality “Traditional Arts” (2024), Bir Arada (Seven Art Gallery, 2023–24) and the Reflections: Calligraphy and Illumination exhibition at Yıldız Technical University Banner Mansion (2024).
