Born in Srinagar in 1955, Munshi obtained a BFA (Painting) from M.S. University Baroda in 1981. Veer Munshi’s canvases present images which are intriguing. They cross average notions of reality and pass into a surreal realm. His solo exhibitions include :2006 Art Alive, India Habitat Center New Delhi ; 2004 Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai ;2004 Jehangir Art Gallery ;2003 Gallery Espace, New Delhi ;1997 E C Galleria, Edinburgh, Scotland ;1996 Gallery, Burswood, Perth, Australia ;1996 United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland among others. He has received several awards: 2002 National Award from Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi; 2001 J & K State Award for painting 1997;1999 & 2002. He Lives and works in New Delhi, India.
