Kavita Singh Kale is a director/partner of a small design studio called Underground Worm in Mumbai. Her work is guided by intuition and imagination and as a film maker, an artist and an illustrator; she draws inspiration from a constant documentation of her memories in several sketchbooks. She grew academically as an artist with a Bfa degree in painting from College of Art, New Delhi and did post graduation in animation film design from National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad. Through her art she questions issues related to common people living in the metro cities of India, depicting urban culture and how it affects her as an artist. The juxtaposition of contrast and energy of cities inspires her to document people, capture their behaviour and problems they share. Her work has been screened in many film festivals and also won awards.
