Jehangir Jani was born in Mumbai in 1955. A self- taught artist, Jehangir has several shows to his credit, some of his solo shows include: 2008 – Metamorphoses I & II, Gallery Sumukha, Bangalore, THE LOFT, Mumbai. 2007 – Great Expectations, Museum Gallery, Mumbai.2007 – Peers, Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda; 2006 – Peers, Gallery Espace, New Delhi. His recent group shows include: 2006 – Human Figure, Gallery Threshold, New Delhi, curated by Marta Jakimowicz; 2006 – Avatars of the Object, curated by Nancy Adajania, Guild Art Gallery, Mumbai. His short film, “Make Up” has been screened in festivals in Europe. Jani lives and works in Mumbai.
