Harshada comes from a family of Artist and took her first lessons in portraiture and landscape from her father C.S Kerkar. Presently she lives and works in her studio in Panjim. She made her first series on laborers in 2006. In Panjim city, the buildings, roads are built by laborers from Karnataka. ‘This is my
way of paying them a tribute’, says Harshada. She has had several solo shows in Goa, Delhi, and in Portugal. She has showed her works in group shows at Cymroza Art Gallery Mumbai, Gallery Beyond and Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Calcutta.
She received the All India Fine Arts and crafts society (AIFACS) Award 2001, Goa State Art Award.
