Scaria completed his MFA in Painting from Jamia Millia University, New Delhi in 1998. He received the ‘Sanskriti Award for Visual Art’ in 2005 and in 2009 was the recipient of the Asian Art Fellowship from the Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea. Scaria has participated in various residencies including CCA7 (Caribbean Contemporary Arts), Trinidad and Tobago (2005) and Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation in Biella, Italy (2004).
His solo shows have included ‘Amusement Park’ at Gallery Chemould, Mumbai (2009); ‘Settlement’ at Galerie Christian Hosp in Berlin and Art Asia, Miami (2009); ‘New Perspectives From India’ at H Cube Gallery, Seoul (2008); ‘Triviality of Our Everyday Existence’ at The National Art Studio in Seoul, Korea and Palette Art Gallery, New Delhi (2008). Group exhibitions include ‘Expressions at Tihar,’ Ojas Art, New Delhi (2009); ‘Poetic Documentary’ at Aicon Gallery, London (2009); ARCO Art Fair, Madrid (2009); and ‘Chalo! India: A New Era in Indian Art’ at Mori Art Museum, Japan (2008).
