Alpna Shalini, a young Mithila artist, was born in 1984 at Madhubani, Bihar. After completing her M.A degree in Psychology from L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga she got training in painting from Mithila Art Institute. In the field of Madhubani painting, she gets influence from her sister Rachna Shalini and the famous artist Santosh K Das. She got the scholarship for young artist from the Ministry of Culture, India in 2007. Now, she is working as a freelance artist.
