Born in 1960 at Gaya Bihar, India, Sushanta Guha finished his graduation and post graduation from Kala bhavan, Shantiniketan in 1982 ,India. In 1998 he received a Charles Wallace India Trust Fellowship, at Camberwell College London, followed by a Fulbright Fellowship at Manhattan Graphic Center New York in 2003.
Solo exhibitions include at Art Consult Gallery Hauz Khaz andTriveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi. He has participated in significant exhibitions such as theAnnual Exhibitions at the Birla Academy Calcutta, Chitra Kala Parishad Bangalore, AIFCS New Delhi, Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal, and other group shows in India and abroad including The 4th International Biennale Caixa-Ourense Spain, Bapha Varna 97. Bulgaria, Ljubhiana, Slovenia, Yugoslavia, Pusan city Korea, Kanagawa Japan,VII Biennale Internationale de la gravure d’lle-d-France, Sarjah UAE. Multiple encounter s“1”&”2”, Exhibition of Prints at Chandigharh, Jaipur, Delhi, New York.
He has been honored by The National Cultural scholarship, Junior and Senior Fellowship from The Government of India and received the National Academy Award from Lalit Kala Akademi and AIFACS Awards from Delhi as well as the Bendre Hussain Award from Mumbai.
