Amit Mahadev Dombhare (b. 1985; Devgaon, Maharashtra) is an artist working within the Warli painting tradition. His practice is rooted in a family lineage of artists and he learned the art from his grandfather, beginning his formal training in 2001. Drawing on inherited knowledge while engaging with contemporary concerns, Dombhare approaches Warli painting as a dynamic visual language that continues to evolve beyond its ritual origins.

Working with the characteristic geometry and narrative structure of Warli art, Dombhare creates compositions that reflect everyday life, ecological relationships and the rhythms of rural communities. His practice balances fidelity to traditional forms with an openness to new themes and contexts, expanding the expressive possibilities of the tradition while maintaining its cultural foundations.

Dombhare has participated in exhibitions and craft fairs across India, including the Crafts Museum, New Delhi; Dilli Haat; Kala Ghoda Festival, Mumbai; Shilp Bazar, Gwalior; and Shilp Mela, Jaipur. In 2025, he was among the artists featured in Serpenti Infinito, the exhibition presented by Bvlgari at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), curated by Nature Morte and Sean Anderson, where his work Seshnaag was exhibited alongside works by leading contemporary Indian and international artists. He is the recipient of the D.K. Jain Art Prize, recognizing his contribution to the continued vitality of the Warli painting tradition.
