About The Artist
Hindol Brahmabhatt received his BFA and MFA in painting from M.S.University, Vadodara. In 1999 Brahmabhatt was the recipient of an Inlaks Foundation Scholarship and in 2004 he received a Lalit Kala Academy National Scholarship. Hindol’s work often conveys a complex drama of the reality of urban life. Through soothing colors and restrained visuals the outward simplicity of the work subtly amplifies the complexity of this drama. His solo shows include ‘His Story’ at the Tamarind Art Gallery, New York (2010); ‘Chiaroscuro’ at Karma Art Gallery, Ahmedabad (2009); ‘A Moment in Time’ at ICIA, The Arts Trust in Mumbai (2008). His group shows include ‘Colors of Life-VI’ at Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai (2009); New York Art Expo (2008); ‘Trends & Trivia’ at the Visual Art Center, Hong Kong (2008); Singapore Art Fair (2008); ‘Freshly Squeezed’ at Suchitra Art Gallery, Mumbai (2008); and ‘Satya Graha: Tribute To The Spirit Of 9-11-1906’ at the Kizo Art Gallery in Durban, South Africa (2006).
